FOUNDER
Chad Bruning, AIA, NCARB
Chad Bruning, the firm’s founder, has been involved in the study of architecture and design since 1993. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville) in 1998. During his university studies, Chad became an active member in AIAS; in fact, Chad helped organize local events and promote awareness of the AIAS program while pursuing his degree.​

After he graduated, Chad accepted a full-time position with the University of Arkansas Community Design Center. The not-for-profit organization is affiliated with the University and provides master-planning services for under-developed communities. That is where Chad began his career before being recruited to Springfield, Missouri.
​
Chad arrived in Springfield in 1998, having been hired to work with the largest architectural engineering firm in Southwest Missouri. He remained at the firm for more than seven years. There he primarily served as project manager for large-scale, themed-based retail facilitates that appear nationwide. His project experience, which has ranged from lower budget projects to multi-million-dollar ones, includes new construction, additions, and remodels.​​

Chad is currently licensed to practice architecture in Missouri and Arkansas. And he is NCARB certified, which permits the firm to promptly obtain licensure in other states.

Bruning Architecture + Design’s process is designed to encourage client involvement at every level. Communication is a key component to meeting clients’ expectations and goals. To that end, we encourage clients to spend ample time discussing with us their needs, parameters, and program of the space that we are charged to create. Whether through sketching, collaborative meetings, or any additional communicative path needed to remain in touch with the client’s vision and goals, we will ensure that the unique nature of every project is identified. Then we get to work and turn your ideas into realities.

INNOVATE
Once we understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities each project presents, we then visualize, plan, and illustrate the space. In doing so, it is common to provide multiple design solutions. Doing so helps to hone our client’s vision. With the help of sketching, sophisticated computer renderings, and finish selections, the firm takes pride in communicating to each client a project’s proposed layout, its features, and how the finished product expresses itself relative to its environment.
We measure success by a space’s ability to serve our clients’ functional goals and their aesthetic vision for the project.
